Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the dealer receives 7 cards face down.
One five card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards, the five card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the houses.
