Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While competing in internet poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amount. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen competing in internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
