Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he could about poker. He would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse feedback from others kill his goal of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
