Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the casino receives seven cards face down.
A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the seven cards, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
