Net High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While participating in internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be found competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
