Holdem is just about individuals and position. All experienced Texas Holdem enthusiasts agree that position in no cutoff Holdem is critically important. Playing your hole cards in late spot will be much more beneficial than in starting poker position. This is because much more data is assembled right before acting.
i.e., I played in a $1-$2 no limit cash round at a local spot. I limped in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier marker, just to see some action. Flop arrived A-A-4. A gambler in early position made a fifteen dollar bet. 2 players drop out and it was my turn to act. I really should have dropped out, but something seemed a tiny bit off. I labeled this player as a weak-tight guy, and usually if he had the biggest hand he would only check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My challenger placed a further bet of $20. I deliberated a tiny bit, but made a decision to re-raise another $30thirty dollars over and above his $20. He folds and I won the money.
Sitting at last position gives you an insight into where you are positioned by watching how other gamblers behave and bet. On the flip side, gamblers at starting position may use their poker position to check-raise the last positioned antagonists and corner them later at the end. In Texas Hold’em, each spots, last and starting must be wagered carefully.
