Seems like most people are always talking about pre-flop method, so I wanted to talk a little bit about how I wager on immediately after the flop. Perhaps I can assist others, or possibly they’ve got advice to improve my play.
I think that 2 of the most crucial plays immediately after the flop are the semi-bluff and the defensive wager. That is because these are the plays you produce whenever you havent hit a hand except you have a great drawing hand. Its easy to bet on a hand when you flop a monster. Except I consider that these two are the greatest approaches to play a drawing. Each one is bet depending on you competition(s) and your postion. So here’s how I bet on it, so tell me what you think.
Early Position – Tight Opponents:
A semi-bluff works fairly well in this position. Are available out wagering and if a tight gambler did not hit a hand he will probably lay down, and if he is unsure you may possibly acquire a call. Except watch out, if that tight player comes back over the best it might be time to get away.
Early Place – Loose Opponents
This can be were I like to complete a defensive bet. Decide how a lot of chips you might be willing to chance on your draw and wager. That is normally a much smaller wager than normal. It has been my understanding that the loose gambler will usually just call a wager instead of re-raise. Even so, should you check to them, theyre far more likely to throw in additional chips than your willing to pay.
Late Location – Tight Competitors
This can be the ideal time to complete a semi-bluff, particularly if most of the table checks. If that is the case you will probaly pick up the pot now. If a player prior to has wager, you’ve to make a decision if he has a hand or not. If not, then reraise and he will most likely go away since he was trying to steal the pot. If you believe he does, effectively then it is time to calculate your odds, and come to a decision if the pot odds are worth the call.
Late Place – Loose Opponents
This one is a bit challenging, because it’s harder to put a loose gambler on a hand. And if your in late placement against loose gambler, chances are they’ve already bet. That is had been I usually come to a decision to take a chance and arrive back more than the best of them and hope they do not call, and if they do, properly then its time to gamble. Odds are although even a loose player will go away if you appear back strong enough.
Keep in mind though that these are moves I only produce following the flop comes and I have a decent drawing hand (usually not a gutshot either). Possibly 4 to the flush or the open ended straight, for example.
